Nintendo sees GTA: Chinatown Wars as an important title
“I think strategically, this is a very important game because it helps send the message that great M-rated content can come to the platform and will find a home. I think all it’s going to take is time.” – Steve Singer, vice president of licensing and the man who manages third party relations for Nintendo of America
I agree with this for now, but if developers continue to see non-success for the M-rated games, then they have no choice then to stop making them.

Agreed and that’s why I think GTA is an important addition. People need to see some big name titles developing M-rated content before more conservative publishers will even begin thinking about backing M-rated development.

GTA is absolutely a strategic move on Nintendo’s part to dirty up their image and reach a larger, older audience. I think non-console owners are waiting for the dsi to be released, before they buy the game.
FYI: GameStop’s got a Chinatown Wars contest to win a “mob boss experience” on their site, http://www.gamestopchinatown.com. Airfare for 4 to New York, private limo, hotel, model entourage, bodyguard and $5000 in cash. It’d be a pretty sweet deal, especially in this recession. Free to enter, so go do it!
