UPDATE: Fuzzy Wuzzy Games Talks Multiplayer And GamePad Use For Armillo
Fuzzy Wuzzy Games has taken to Twitter to talk about the Wii U version of Armillo: The Parallel Universe Mystery. The indie developer says that the action platformer will support off-TV play and second screen display but that they are still looking into touch screen controls. While touch screen controls can sometimes enhance gameplay, there are other times where the touch screen controls are not needed. It is nice to see that Fuzzy Wuzzy Games is taking the time to see if touch screen controls add anything to the game, rather than just adding in the controls just to have them included in the game.
The current Wii U build of Armillo supports off-TV play and second screen display.

Doesn't have touch screen support yet. We'll have to see if we can use it in a way that adds to the game.

Fuzzy Wuzzy Games also touches briefly on mutliplayer during their conversations with fans on Twitter. Fuzzy Wuzzy Games does intend on adding multiplayer elements into Armillo but the multiplayer may end up being a ‘post-release free update’. That is not even the most unusual part of the Twitter conversation. Fuzzy Wuzzy Games also mentions dual GamePad multiplayer! Does this mean that Fuzzy Wuzzy Games knows something about dual GamePads? Fuzzy Wuzzy Games could just be anticipating the use of dual GamePads in the future but it is interesting that they brought it up in conversation.
UPDATE: Fuzzy Wuzzy Games actually mistyped during the Twitter conversation saying, “Oh, whoops! I said two gamepads, but I really meant two players using a gamepad. So it was just me mistyping.” in a statement to Pure Nintendo.
Fuzzy Wuzzy Games also said in the statement that they don’t know much more about dual GamePads for the Wii U but that they have a better idea of the estimated timeline.
I know some things, but it’s pretty much in line with what people know, except just a bit more specific (estimated time line, etc.).
They could roll out the dev stuff, but compliance won’t pass any games with it until much later.
@pretty_eishagur Yes, it's being planned. But multiplayer may end up as a post-release free update just so that we get the game out 1st.

@pretty_eishagur But we're definitely committed to a co-op mode using two gamepads, so you'll see it either on release or post-release.

Dual GamePad functionality is something that many Wii U owners and fans have been curious about since it was brought up at E3 2012. This feature has not been spoken about since and is has likely been delayed due to the lower than expected sales of the Wii U. Hopefully we will here more about dual GamePad use sometime in the near future.
