Danny Wells was well known in the gaming community as the Canadian actor who portrayed Luigi in The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! series.  Mr. Danny Wells died yesterday at the age of 72 in Toronto.

The live action Mario Bros. TV show from the 80’s aired from September 4, 1989 to December 1, 1989 with a total of 65 episodes.  Lou Albano, Danny Wells’ co-star who played Mario, died in 2009 at age 76.

The news of Danny Wells death is not the ideal way to round off the Year of Luigi but he will live on forever in the hearts of gamers everywhere.  For those who have never seen The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!, episodes can be found on DVD, Amazon Instant Video, and Netflix.
