Nintendo Europe Consolidation results in 130 Layoffs
In an effort to streamline their European Branch operations, Nintendo has laid-off 130 workers from the Großostheim warehouse and office in Germany. Großostheim’s duties will be taken over by the Frankfurt, Germany office.
Statement:
“Nintendo of Europe has entered into a consultation process on a number of changes it is intending to make to its European business which, in the long-term, will better enable the European business to adapt to the rapidly changing business environment,”
It’s never good news when workers are laid off. With E3 right around the corner, the timing of this news couldn’t be worse for Nintendo. We hope the workers laid off can find other jobs soon.
