Wii U 5.2.0 Update Now Available, Adds Folders
Folders have been one of the longest standing feature requests for the Wii U since the launch almost 2 years ago. Now, with version 5.2.0, Nintendo has finally added folders to the Wii U that allow owners to organize their games and applications. There are also a couple other updates including adding the Download Management icon to the Wii U Menu and some changes to the Home Menu.
Here are the full list of changes:
Version 5.2.0 U:
Released September 29th, 2014
Changes to the Wii U Menu:
Folders can now be created in the Wii U Menu to hold and organize software icons
A Download Management icon has been added to the Wii U MenuChanges to Quick Start Menu:
The Quick Start Menu will now display when the Wii U is powered on from the Wii U GamePad TV Remote
Options have been added to Power Settings that allow users to hide certain software from the Quick Start MenuChanges to the HOME Menu:
The design and layout of the HOME Menu has been updated
Changes to the Nintendo eShop:
Disabled usage of characters not used when redeeming Nintendo eShop cards (O, I, Z, etc.)
Improvements to system stability and usability:
Further improvements to overall system stability and other minor adjustments have been made to enhance the user experience
Since the 3DS is set to receive some custom themes in October, I hope they will eventually have some custom themes for the Wii U now that folders are available.
What do you guys think? Are you excited to organize your games?

This is great news – my menu is a mess so I’ve been looking forward to getting folders. Just a couple of days ago I noticed something cool though – I had filled up all 6 original screens in the menu, and it automatically added a 7th.
