We reported earlier that Nintendo have been talking very candidly about their future plans, including an unprecedented mobile deal with DeNA. But Nintendo’s press conference had more than one exciting tidbit of information for fans.

Nintendo have revealed the very first details of its next console project – limited though they may be. The next-generation console will be called NX, and is currently under development.

Further to this, Nintendo’s latest console utilizes a brand new concept, according to Nintendo, which is not entirely surprising given the Big N’s track record with thinking outside the box.

The NX is still shrouded in mystery for now, but President Iwata did say that we would learn mroe next year – which could mean a reveal at E3 2016.
