The only issue I have ever had with Nintendo’s revolutionary Wii Remote is the endless flow of batteries that you need to have on hand to keep feeding the things. I thought I had been real smart to invest in expensive rechargeable batteries but I was sadly mistaken.  Rechargeable batteries are wonderful things but those to have a limited battery life before the no longer hold a charge anymore.  So I had a whole set of two chargers and about twelve batteries that were no longer any use to me because the batteries started to stop working one by one.  I was really upset that I had to invest more money trying to keep my gaming habits alive by purchasing more juice for my Wii Remotes.

Let me tell you, I have not purchased one battery for my Wii Remotes for the past several months.  This is not because my Wii is collecting dust, actually I still use my Wii almost daily.  I owe all of my spared dollar bills to a nifty new charging system for Wii Remotes called the Energizer Flat Panel 2X Induction Charger.  The Energizer Induction Charger for Wii Remotes is developed by PDP and officially branded by Energizer.  This is probably the most valuable accessory that I have EVER purchased for my Wii.  Each charger costs about $25 (plus shipping & handling) on Amazon.com and charges two Wii Remotes simultaneously.

The induction charger comes with the flat panel induction charger, two rechargeable battery packs and a new battery cover plate.  To install your new rechargeable batteries all you have to do is remove the Wii Remotes jacket, remove the battery cover plate, install the induction battery pack, add the new battery cover plate, plug in the flat panel induction charger and set the Wii Remotes on the panel.  You will be required to use the provided battery cover plate because it is slightly different than the ‘original’ Nintendo version so that the Wii Remote can accommodate the large battery pack.  And don’t think that since the battery pack is large, then you will not be able to fit that silicone jacket back on.  This is not the case, with the new battery cover plate the Wii Remote’s size does not change.  You will be able to use the silicone jacket just like you have before.  When using the induction charger you do not have to remove the Wii Remotes after they are fully charged because there is a trickle charge system that prevents over charging.  When you are ready to play, so is your Wii Remote.  When you are done playing for the night, set it back on the charger.  Magnets in the battery pack assist with lining up the Wii Remotes properly on the charger.  How do you know if the Wii Remote is lined up properly?  Easy, there are silhouettes of two Wii Remotes right on the face of the charger.  Still not sure if they are lined up? Still no problem, if the Wii Remote isn’t sitting quite right, then the charging light will flash red.  If this occurs, then just simply pick up the Wii Remote and reseat it on the induction charger.  The charging light(s) will show solid red while charging and green when the Wii Remotes have reached their full capacity.  You can charge your Wii Remote with the jacket on or off and with your Wii Motion Plus attached.  One thing you will notice while using the induction charger is that the Wii Remotes will feel warm after sitting on the charger.  This is completely normal and does not affect the performance of the Wii Remotes.

This is the one thing that is a must have for any Nintendo fan and I highly recommend this charger.  Stop fumbling with the silicone jackets, wasting money on batteries and investing in rechargeables that will just wear out.  Save up and get yourself the Energizer Flat Panel 2X Induction Charging System for your Wii Remotes. With the release of the Wii U on the horizon it will be worth every penny.  I bought two chargers at the same time for all four of my Wii Remotes and had no issues or complaints since using them.  Energizer at one point did have a 4X induction charger that charged four Wii Remotes simultaneously but for whatever reason this model was discontinued so this version of the charger is very hard to find.  One last plus, the Wii Remote induction charger looks very sleek.
