A petition has started to name a NPC in the new Legend of Zelda game after Robin Williams
I’m sure most of you already know that Robin Wiliams, best known for Mrs. Doubtfire and John Keating, passed away Monday morning. Robin and his daughter Zelda Williams had become very prominent promoters of Nintendo, through a variety of ads. Nick Schaedel, from Adelaide Australia, has started a petition to ask Nintendo to name a NPC (Non-player Character) after Robin Williams in the next Legend of Zelda game.
Robin was an avid player of video games, with a love for all things Nintendo, and a particular love of all things Legend of Zelda. It is well-known that he named his daughter after the series’ titular princess. Nintendo of America itself only recently hired him and his daughter to promote the franchise in a series of ads.
So, in a day where there aren’t many words, what can we do? Well, there’s a new Zelda game on the horizon. A bold reinvention, a fresh new open world adventure for Wii U. I would like to suggest that when the game is localised to English, Nintendo of America and the Treehouse name one of the characters “Robin” in his memory.
He won’t get to play it, but he’ll live on forever in a universe he always loved.

This is such a lovely gesture, I would be very happy if this happened, as I’m sure Robin and his family would be too.

I agree wholeheartedly, I have already signed the petition.

I always enjoyed Robin Williams’ humor. He’s a super funny guy with just a love for making people laugh. He just has that uniqueness about him that makes me glad to have watched his movies. One thing I didn’t know was that he even brought the morale of US troops up with his comedy and that he helped young kids with diseases and medical conditions. He was such a great man.
And this petition to forever engrave him in a Zelda game? I hope his NPC is a kindly old man who gives out great wisdom and has a quirky disposition XD
R.I.P. Robin Williams. May your laughter and kindness shine on forever.
