Pure Nintendo presents Google’s annual April Fools prank, Google Maps: Pokémon Challenge.

Google is looking for the world’s best Pokémon Master and is doing so through an updated version of Google Maps.  Using their app, potential Pokémon Masters will use Google Maps to search for, locate, and capture Pokémon all over the world!  Potential Pokémon Masters that collect every single Pokémon will be invited to the Googleplex for the final round of hiring and an applicant will be selected as the official Pokémon Master and will begin work at Google September 1, 2014.  Deadline to find the Pokémon is April 2, 2014 at 2:00 PDT so start searching Pokémon Masters!

Dozens of wild Pokémon have taken up residence on streets, amidst forests and atop mountains throughout Google Maps.

To catch ’em all, grab your Poké Ball and the newest version of Google Maps for iPhone or Android. Then tap the search bar, “press start,” and begin your quest.

And, follow Google Maps on Google+, Facebook or Twitter for hints and tips for the most dedicated trainers.
