The Atlus gaming company has been in the news a lot recently. Their parent company, Index Corporation, is currently being investigated for shady business practices and is facing potential bankruptcy. Luckily, Atlus has announced that they will carry on creating video games, despite the drama surrounding Index.

This is great news. Atlus has brought us many classics like the Shin Megami Tensei series, Persona, and my personal favorite, Riviera: The Promised Land. In today’s market not many companies are producing classic JRPGs anymore, at least for North America and Europe. Many Japanese companies produce games that never see release outside of Asia, but Atlus has a good track record of bringing their games to the states. If Atlus went under, it would be a sad day for American JRPG fans like myself.
