Kevin and I were lucky enough to be invited to watch an online presentation, through WebEx, of the new Trauma Team game. Below are some details that I gathered from their presentation.
Trauma Team has the same feeling and look as the last one—maybe a little crisper graphics. The game displays in 480p progressive scan and 16:9 widescreen. The game also features the same manga style cut scenes, but don’t worry, they pull off the cut scenes and make up for any pitfalls with fantastic voice acting.
There are a few added gameplay modes along with the ones from the first game: Diagnosis, First Response, Surgery, Endoscopy, Orthopedics, and Forensics. Diagnosis and Forensics offer very “adventure” style experiences. Four out of six of these modes will be available in co-op, but there will be no online modes unfortunately.

Do you like EarthBound? Want to possibly see it on the Virtual Console? Then grab a postcard, write a simple message asking for it, and send it to Japan!
Things look kind of disheartening for fans of EarthBound; the EarthBound demo was stripped from Smash Bros. Brawl, word is NOA doesn’t want to release EarthBound on the Virtual Console, series creator Shigesato Itoi continues to say he won’t make any more games in the series, EarthBound cart prices are getting ridiculous, with loose carts going for $130 and complete sets selling for $300+, sometimes even over $1000. Even the box by itself sells for $80. Interest in the game is high, but it’s getting harder and harder to even play it legally.
Pretty much everyone in the Western gaming world knows EarthBound has a strong following, but it’s Nintendo’s Japanese headquarters (NCL) that pulls the strings and decides what gets released and what doesn’t. If NCL can be persuaded that there’s a demand for EarthBound, maybe there’s still hope for a Virtual Console release. It wouldn’t be difficult for NCL to make changes to the game if necessary; it’d only take an hour or two and a few changed bytes.

Simply put, the IUM is the next generation of USB flash drives. Why? Because it provides you with a more efficient, practical and comprehensive solution for transferring your files than traditional USB flash drives. You no longer need to run back and forth between laptops to share files, you don’t need to worry about what previous content may still be on your flash drive before you give it to a friend or colleague, and you don’t need to try to figure out if you have enough capacity available to share all you content. Oh, and by the way, have we told you about its media streaming capabilities? Here are some of the things it can do.
Unlimited File Sharing
Because the IUM allows you to share your entire hard drive as well as any servers, external hard drives or other storage space that your laptop has access to, you can never run out of storage space.
SANTA MONICA, CA – February 18, 2010 – Activision Publishing, Inc.
