Video Games Live adds 30 more shows to 2009 World Tour

Veteran video game composers Tommy Tallarico and Jack Wall have performed Video Games Live to over 500,000 people across the world since 2005 and their efforts are only starting to begin. Video Games Live is proud to announce the addition of 30 new performances to their highly acclaimed award-winning tour. Some highlights include a 2 evening performance in Tokyo at the largest indoor theatre in Japan (taking place during the Tokyo Game Show), an invitation by the Chinese government to perform all across China, the highly anticipated and acclaimed return to Broadway in New York City, and first ever game music performances in locations such as Ireland, Poland, Shanghai, Oregon, Salvador, Barcelona and others.

TALKING HEADS OFFER UP FIVE TRACKS FOR ROCK BAND

Cambridge, Mass. – Aug. 28, 2009 – Harmonix and MTV Games today announced that a five pack of songs from new wave rockers Talking Heads, as well as singles from Avenged Sevenfold, The Jam, Oasis and Rage Against the Machine will be available in the Rock Band Music Store of downloadable content next week for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system.

Additional tracks from Tom Petty, Billy Idol, Fleetwood Mac and Judas Priest will be available in the Wii™ Rock Band Music Store bringing the number of downloadable tracks for Wii to 647, and tracks from Guns N’ Roses and Franz Ferdinand will be available for download for Rock Band Unplugged on PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) system.

Rock Band DLC Additions for Xbox 360 and PLAYSTATION 3 System

Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Talking Heads add an additional five downloadable tracks to Rock Band, joining the already available “Psycho Killer.” The five-pack spans a good deal of Talking Heads’ career, including “Take Me to the River” from the band’s second album, More Songs About Buildings and Food; “Crosseyed & Painless” and “Once in a Lifetime” from the band’s fourth studio album, Remain in Light; “Girlfriend is Better” from the band’s fifth album, Speaking in Tongues; and “And She Was” from the band’s sixth album, Little Creatures. Additionally, singles from Avenged Sevenfold, The Jam, Oasis and Rage Against the Machine will be available in the Rock Band Music Store next week.

Video Game Event In Phoenix Bridges Gap Between Retro and Modern Gamers

Phoenix, AZ – Video game enthusiasts from around the world will converge the weekend of Friday, August 28th for Monroe-A-Palooza 2009, the Phoenix, Arizona gaming party and fan event for the MonroeWorld network of internet sites and radio shows.

Now in it’s 2nd year, the annual show features a variety of video game themed entertainment, including opportunities to play rare vintage games on their original hardware, the hottest new games from today’s consoles, as well as VIP access to private arcades in the Phoenix area.

At the epicenter of the event is radio personality Shane R. Monroe, from which the event takes its name. Host and creator of one of the internet’s longest running radio shows, Retro Gaming Radio, Monroe is considered by many to be a pioneer in internet radio, having released his shows online long before Apple put the “pod” in “podcasting”.
