FRANZ FERDINAND, GRATEFUL DEAD, THE ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND AMONG NEW ROCK TRACKS TO HIT THE Wii™ ROCK BAND® MUSIC STORE

Cambridge, Mass. – May 18, 2009 – Harmonix and MTV Games today announced an onslaught of rock coming this week to the Rock Band® Music Store catalogue of downloadable content for Wii™ system, with 25 new tracks, including six songs from the eclectic and legendary Grateful Dead. This week’s music update also includes songs from The Knack, Coheed & Cambria, the B-52s, Buzzcocks, The Runaways, T-Rex, At the Gates, Evile and The Haunted. Wii Rock Band 2 owners will also gain access to tracks recently released to other gaming consoles, including Franz Ferdinand, The Allman Brothers Band, The Distillers, Prong, Luscious Jackson and Alien Ant Farm.

Wii fans can expect a rollout of previously released downloadable Rock Band content until the entire back catalogue of more than 670 songs is available.

Punch Out Wii Nintendo World Store Launch Event

Cyr F., center, of Jersey City, N.J., claims the title of World Video Boxing Association champion, edging out 31 other contestants. The hotly anticipated Punch-Out!! video game will be released for the Wii console on May 18, 2009.

HB Online Lite, MMO RPG for the DSi Browser, Is Here!

HullBreach Online, the first MMO RPG for the Wii’s Internet Channel, has been scaled down to run on the Nintendo DSi Browser to play while on-the-go. Even though the graphics have been shrunk, don’t think that means the gameplay has. HB Online Lite boasts all the sectors, planets, missions, tradeable goods, ships, upgrades, asteroids, NPCs, chat functions, and player stats, that its older brother has. In fact, both the game universe and player accounts are shared, so players can seemlessly jump between versions of the game at any time.

HB Online Lite has a completely new interface that favors lower resolution, lower bandwidth, and an all touchscreen interface. Communication with the server has been accelerated, and the backend generates content using the newest technologies, something that dates the older HB Online.
