Asked by an analyst about Ubisoft’s continuing support of the Wii, Guillemot let word slip of a rumored sequel: “We have lots of products coming for the Wii next [fiscal] year. We have Red Steel … Sorry, I mentioned a game that I wasn’t supposed to mention.”
This quote was taken from a recent announcement by Ubisoft for their software lineup for their fiscal year 2009 (March 2009 – March 2010). He mentions a new Assassin’s Creed and Ghost Recon, and then let slip the Red Steel 2 announcement. I’m not sure why he wasn’t supposed to mention that a new Red Steel 2 was coming out this year, but it could have something to do with the rumored support for Motion Plus in the sequel—at least, that’s what everyone is hoping for : )
