E3 2016: All of the Amiibo (Announced)
Like any Nintendo announcement, Nintendo couldn’t resist giving us new information about the latest Amiibo. Three Amiibo come straight from the upcoming Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, which you can see below. These amiibo will release sometime in 2017, likely around the game’s release.
Currently, their function is unknown. What we do know, is that players will be able to use the Wolf Link amiibo to call forth Wolf Link to be Link’s companion. This can only be done if players complete the Cave of Shadows in The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD. Wolf Link will follow Link around attacking enemies, and helping Link hunt for food.
In non-LoZ news, Nintendo also announced they will release Daisy, Waluigi and Boo (which glows in the dark) amiibo on November 4. Finally, Nintendo will also release poses for Wario, Donkey Kong, Rosalina, and Diddy Kong.

Pretty sure the Wolf Link video says that you can have Wolf Link join Link in Breath of the Wild without having completed the Cave of Shadows in Twilight Princess HD, just that it will only have three hearts if you don’t. If you do, your remaining hearts are carried over. Unless I misunderstood something.
