"Age to age, you're still the same."
crim Co., Ltd., has announced that El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron HD Remaster will be released digitally for Nintendo Switch on April 28th. Originally released for PS3 and Xbox 360 in 2011, the remastered Switch version will feature full HD support, improved framerates, faster loading speeds, and other general optimizations.
El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron’s original development team was headed by the legendary Sawaki Takeyasu (Devil May Cry). The game features a story inspired by events in the apocryphal Book of Enoch, an Old Testament religious text considered non-canonical by most Christian and Jewish religious bodies. And that’s too bad; not to knock the bell choir, but my church’s Sunday services could use a little more anime-inspired combat and 2D/3D platforming.
Players take on the role of Enoch—an immortal scribe under the guidance of Archangels—as he combats seven Fallen Angels in order to deliver their souls and spare the world from a great flood ordered by the Council of Heaven.
El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron combines many genre elements with its glorious anime style graphical presentation that changes dramatically as the player progresses through a totally mesmeric experience. What is offered within El Shaddai goes far beyond these confines in that action, strategy and platforming are just a few of the challenges and exciting dangers that unfold.
El Shaddai is all about its simple controls. You can experience the profound action by pressing a few buttons and the same goes to the in-game jump action and battle scenes. The intuitive controls can lead you to the best gaming experience throughout the game.
In addition to the visual and performance improvements, the HD remaster for Switch will come with post-ending novel Lucifer’s Fall Chronicles of Ceta and the El Shaddai ASCENSION OF THE METATRON ArtBook.
El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron HD Remaster is available for preorder in the Nintendo eShop for $29.99.
