Nintendo has updated their network status page with some information on upcoming maintenance periods for both the 3DS and Wii U.  The main window that involves downtime for both the 3DS eShop and Wii U eShop will happen on March 13, 2014 from 1-5pm PST.  These types of maintenance windows are common around the time of Nintendo Directs.  The last Nintendo Direct was on February 13 so it is possible Nintendo is planning another Direct for later this week.  This could also be a simple update and nothing more.

The other maintenance window is on March 10 and involves downtime for Online Play/Rankings for Pokémon X and Y.

What do you guys think will happen this Thursday?  I’d personally like to see the Wii U Speed Boot get released that Nintendo showcased in January.
