Full List Of Wii U Virtual Console Launch Titles
Last week Nintendo announced that the Wii U Virtual Console would be launching after the Spring Wii U update that is supposed to occur sometime this week. Today on the Wii U Facebook page Nintendo announced the full lineup of Wii U Virtual Console games that will be available at launch. The list of games contains titles from the NES and SNES with other titles from the GameBoy Advance and other systems to arrive on the service in the future. – Balloon Fight (NES)
– Donkey Kong Jr. (NES)
– Excitebike (NES)
– Ice Climber (NES)
– Kirby’s Adventure (NES)

This is pretty sad if I’m being honest. The original Wii had a larger VC lineup from a variety of consoles, and it was available from the start. The Wii U takes 5 months to get the VC running proper, and it launches with this small lineup that’s dominated by old Nes games that we likely have multiple versions of already. I love Nintendo but, in spite of small improvements, their approach to downloadable software is years behind the competition. :(

It may be a mysteriously small debut list, but I’m just so happy and thankful I’ll be able to play Super Mario World and Super Metroid on my Wii U gamepad wherever I please!!! I’m not going to bitch and moan like your average faceless whiny geek bitch.
