GameBoy Turns 20!
Today 20 years ago the GameBoy was released to the world, first in Japan and later, in August, for NA. I remember bringing home my first Gameboy spending hours playing some Tetris and Mario, and my eyes glazing over from stareing to much at the screen. What memories do you have with the father of handheld, the Gameboy?

i can’t really remember when i got my game boy. it seems like it’s been a part of me my whole life. thinking about what my life would have been like without the game boy is kinda like thinking about what it would be like to not have my parents and brothers and sisters. it’s a very scary thought. my game boy and i spent many hours together every day and night when i was growing up. some of the games that i loved the most were Zelda: Link’s Awakening, Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins, and of course Tetris. i’ve also beat Kirby’s Dream Land many times, that game never gets old. i remember playing 2 player Tetris with the link cable on long road trips. now Nintendo has come so far that Justin and i have been able to play Tetris DS against each other while in two separate cars. to commemorate game boy on this special day, Nintendo should bring all of the game boy games to the DSi with a virtual console update.

Prb mine is playing Pokemon Blue when it first came out. It way my brothers gameboy and he would not let me save over his game, so I would play it straight until I finished it or as long as i could until i passed out or he came home.

Yeah, I played Pokemon Blue so much! What a fantastic game! I think I got Pokemon Blue and the Gameboy Pocket for Christmas one year, —needless to say, a fantastic Christmas :)

*sigh* I miss is so much. My parents had to get me like 5 cause they kept breaking. They didn’t mind cause of the joy it would bring.
