GhostSlayer Comes To WiiWare With MotionPlus Support
Story
At the foot of Hellstone Mountain sits a well that used to provide an endless supply of water to a nearby town for many decades. Rumor has it that the well runs so deep, it reaches the depths of Hell. One year, during a long drought, the well finally dried up. It was then that the doorway to the underworld opened. The Ghost Queen led her minions through the well to bring chaos and destruction to the world. The undead laid waste to the nearby town and its surroundings within a week. As a Ghost Slayer from a neighboring town and sensing the imminent danger, you must embark on a mission to subdue the Ghost Queen and stop her path of destruction once and for all.
How does the combat mechanism work ?
Attack : Slash enemies by shaking or swinging the Wii Remote™. Controls differ when playing with or without the Wii MotionPlus™. A successful hit depends on the slash angle and enemy behavior at the point of contact.
Defense : A successful block relies on the blocking angle. To block successfully, tilt your sword perpendicular to the direction of attack. Some enemies require the player to execute a block successfully to create an opening for attack.
Special Technique : The special technique allows you to unleash devastating damage against your enemy in a single blow. However, this technique can only be used when sufficient power is stored on the power bar.
Vertical Special Technique : Works for enemies directly in front. It is executed by swinging the sword from top down or vise versa while power is activated on the sword. (Hold A button)
Horizontal Special Technique : Works best for enemies spread out. It is executed by swinging the sword from left to right or vise versa while power is activated on the sword. (Hold A button)
Combo : Combo hits accumulate when consecutive attacks are executed. The Combo count breaks when player incurs damage or when blocked by an enemy. Higher combo hits increases the power bar faster. The maximum combo hit will be displayed at the end of each stage and adds to the player’s score.
Power bar : The power bar increases when a successful hit or block is executed. A Special technique can be executed when 1 bar is filled.
Modes of control
Choose to play the game with or without the Wii MotionPlus™. Game experience will vary when using different modes of play. Select the mode of control before proceeding into the game. Tutorials for both modes of controls are available in tutorial mode.
Using Wii MotionPlus™:
The game utilizes the advantages of Wii MotionPlus™ to bring you a realistic sword fighting experience.
Attack by swinging the Wii Remote in the direction you want to attack. The sword will move according to the way you swing the Wii Remote. Pressing and Holding the B button will switch to blocking mode.
Using Wii Remote™ only :
Attack by shaking the Wii Remote™. Without the Wii MotionPlus™, the sword does not follow the movement of the Wii Remote™. Movement of the sword is restricted in some ways.
Switch between blocking and attacking mode by pressing and releasing B button to change the sword angle. This method of control is not as intuitive as using the Wii MotionPlus™ but still offers enjoyable gameplay.Weapons
The trusty sword is your only weapon. There are 4 types of swords available in the game to be unlocked as stages are cleared. Each sword yields different damage and special technique to be executed.
