With the hype surrounding the October 12th release of Pokemon X/Y reaching a feverish pitch, Japanese 3DS owners have set new heights for pre-order numbers. According to Media Create, Pokemon X/Y saw over 260,000 pre-orders in the first two days. This number is not counting the Pokemon X/Y bundle pre-orders, which Amazon Japan is claiming they sold out of in just 9-hours.

We all know that Japan loves Pokemon, but there is no reason we shouldn’t see similar numbers around the world. With sales like this there is a good chance that the three time monthly sales winner, the 3DS, will maintain its dominance into the end of the year.
