Japanese Sales Charts: Yokai Watch 2 Just Shy of Two Million Sales (Week Ending August 3, 2014)
This week’s sales data from Japan is in, and we have a very similar situation to last week, in fact the top three games are exactly the same.
Yokai Watch 2 continues to dominate with 143,000 new sales, bringing total sales to just shy of 2 million, quite a feat in less then a month. It’s followed at a distant second by Yoshi’s New Island with 33,000 sales this week, then Mario Kart 8 as the Wii U’s sole entry with 18,000 sales.
With twelve of the top twenty games on Nintendo’s handheld system, it’s no wonder that the 3DS retains top position this week in the hardware charts. All hardware numbers are generally the same as last week, with the 3DS on top followed by Sony’s handheld Vita, and then the Wii U.
Check out the full list below and let us know your thoughts on the way things were in Japan last week.

So what exactly is the premise behind Yokai Watch? It is Level 5 so is it another Ghibli collaboration like Ni No Kuni?

http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yo-Kai_Watch read the plot, sounds good.
also it says there it’s only Level 5 but I don’t know. Ni No Kuni has been in my to buy list on the PS3 for ages! I really want to play it ahah

I have watched my wife play Ni No Kuni and it looks really good. It is like a traditional RPG mixed with elements of Pokemon. I have been hesitant to start playing it because I know it is in my blood to “catch ’em all” and I’ll speed too much time trying to get every helper monster :)
