Japan’s sales data for last week is in, and Nintendo’s 3DS continues to dominate the software and hardware charts.

This week saw the release of Yoshi’s New Island, some four months after it was released in the West. Coming in at number two in the software charts with almost 60,000 sales, it was’t nearly enough to beat continuing 3DS best-seller, Yokai Watch 2 from Level 5, with another 180,000 sales tallied.

The Wii U returned to having a sole title in the top 20, with the little game that could, Mario Kart 8, strengthening its sales to bump back up to number three, selling about 20% more than last week’s 15,000.

In hardware, Nintendo’s systems actually rose in sales, albeit slightly, which contrasted with every other console’s continued decline in numbers. The positions remain the same, with the 3DS on top and the Wii U at number three.
