Nintendo Press Release
June 16, 2010
Honestly, that’s a pretty darn good list of games, but I’m saddened by the lack of Castlevania.
June 17, 2010
Yeah, Castlevania has been a long running franchise for the GBA and the DS so it was surprising not to see it mentioned, but I guarantee you that will change. Hopefully sooner rather than later :)

Seriously! Gimmie a little Rondo of Blood, please!
BTW, were you one of the people to actually *play* the 3DS? People seem to be pretty evasive about whether they just held a 3DS and watched a demo play, or actually played a game.
June 18, 2010
Yeah, I was able to play the 3DS. There were either tech demo videos or actual playable demos. When we posted our initial impressions of the 3DS, we only got to see a 60-second video of what games would look like on the system. Once we got to Nintendo’s booth, we were able to actually play Starfox 64 3D, Nintendogs + cats, and Pilotwings Resort. There were a couple other playable demos including DJ Hero 3D, which was surprisingly fun.
After playing basically every demo available for the 3DS, I can safely say that 3D definitely does change the way we play games for the better. Not only does the depth really make the graphics more immersive, it also adds an extra layer of depth that helps for spatial recognition in 3D platforming environments. In most 3D platforming games nowadays, you have to line your shadow up with whatever item you’re trying to collect in the air because that level of depth can be hard to determine accurately. With the 3D depth enabled, you can now easily tell objects that are closer to you and those that are farther away.
I’ll post some more in-depth hands-on impressions with all the demos I got to play so you can get an idea of the applications for this 3D tech.
Hope that gives you a better idea of what to expect from the 3DS :)
