Regalia: Of Men and Monarchs is bringing its modern mix of JRPG adventuring and dynamic storytelling to the Nintendo Switch on 12 April 2018.
The game is much bigger than your typical indie game, promising over 40 hours of gameplay. It features challenging, turn-based combat and skippable battles as you restore your kingdom, bonding with vibrant characters on your journey. The game also features tactical elements, with the ability to customize your experience in terms of difficulty level and the option to skip battles.
There’s always something to do in the land of Ascalia though, like dealing with your quirky teammates’ quirks. There’s Theo the vampire, who also harbors an unfortunate aversion for blood. His dream is to become a hairdresser. Another teammate, Esther, wants to make a DIY atomic bomb with just a few gears and spare parts. There’s also a fishing mini-game to pass the time.
The Switch version of Regalia is the Royal Edition, an enhanced version of the successful PC game with new characters and a new game mode. The Royal Edition contains a DLC pack, The Unending Grimoire, which adds an endless mode and brand-new characters to the game.
Regalia: Of Men and Monarchs will hit the eShop on 12 April 2018 priced at $25, with a retail version to follow. In the meantime, check out the trailer below and let us know if you like the sound of playing a new JRPG on your Switch.
