New Bravely Default Gameplay Details
New Bravely Default gameplay details where discussed during today’s Nintendo Direct. These new details concentrated primarily on battling enemies.
The ‘Brave & Default’ was said to bring new elements to the RPG genre. The Brave & Default system is used to disrupt the flow of battle and allow players to build valuable battle techniques. Selecting Default in battle will allow a player’s characters to shield themselves for a whole turn. This will allow their characters to increase defense and build up ‘Brave Points’. After building up Brave Points, players can spend them by selecting Brave. Selecting Brave will allow a player’s characters to make multiple attacks in the same turn.
Players will also be able to increase the pace of battling using the 3DS D-Pad. Bravely Default will also feature ‘Bravely Second’. Bravely Second will let players freeze time at any point during a battle and afford their characters the opportunity to strike opponents multiple times while time is stopped. Unlike the Brave & Default system, Bravely Second uses Sleep Points rather than Brave Points. Sleep Points can be built up by leaving a 3DS in Sleep Mode while Bravely Default is running.
Bravely Default also provides some very in-depth customization with various jobs, abilities, weapons, and spells to use for the in game characters. StreetPass integration is used in Bravely Default and will give players a chance to summon friends for assistance.
Gamers can pick up Bravely Default beginning February 7th. The Bravely Default Collector’s Edition will also be available on February 7th, more details about the Collector’s Edition can be found here.
