Nintendo hosted a special Nintendo Direct yesterday to show off their latest mobile game, Dragalia Lost, which is making its debut next month.
We already knew that the game presents a new IP for the big N – a first for their mobile presence. We now know much more thanks to today’s video presentation. It promises a design made for smartphones, but with a depth typical for a dedicated console game. You’ll find yourself immersed in a fast-paced action role-playing game set in a fantasy world of humans and dragons.
In Dragalia Lost, players control a customized party as they venture forth to save the Kingdom of Alberia from mysterious evil forces. There are more than 60 companions to discover along the way, with a variety of weapons, combat maneuvers, and elemental abilities.
The game features real-time battles with touch-screen mechanics. For example, you’ll drag your finger on the screen to move your character, tap or hold to attack, and flick the screen to dodge. It seems fairly intuitive from the presentation.
Dragalia Lost is free to play, with real-world currency used to purchase something called Diamantium. This can be used to summon new characters, dragons or special accessories. You’ll also earn rewards for completing quests.
One of the most exciting features is the synchronous online multiplayer, which allows up to three other people with the game to play together. You can share the main story, quests and event raids this way.
Are you keen to transform into a dragon int he world of Dragalia Lost and inflict some heavy damage? Check out the full presentation above and let us know your thoughts. You can also pre-register to download Dragalia Lost.
