Nintendo announces yearly sales numbers
Nintendo has released their fiscal sales numbers from the last 12 months (April 1st, 2012 through March 31st, 2013) to their investors. The Wii U has sold 390,000 units since the end of 2012 (first quarter of 2013), which puts the total Wii U sales at 3.45 million. The 3DS has sold over 1.25 million units over the same first quarter period, which puts the lifetime sales total at just over 31 million. Nintendo sales are down 1.9 percent from the previous year, but on a brighter note, Nintendo has a net income of 7 billion yen. This is up from a 71 million yen loss during the previous year.
The Wii sold around 460,000 units during the first quarter which puts its lifetime sales at 99.84 million.
Nintendo forecasts to have a 10 billion yen net income during this next 12 months and a sales of over 9 million in Wii U’s.

It seems as if Nintendo also confirmed several titles to release within the next fiscal year/next several months within one of their financial press releases.
“Based on the strong lineup of upcoming software titles for both the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U systems, Nintendo expects to return to Operating Income profitability by the end of the current fiscal year. During the next several months, Nintendo expects to launch new titles in the Mario Kart (Wii U), Super Mario Bros. (Wii U), Wii Fit (Wii U), Pikmin(Wii U), The Legend of Zelda (Wii U and Nintendo 3DS), Mario & Luigi (Nintendo 3DS) and Pokémon(Nintendo 3DS) franchises.”
