Nintendo Celebrates Four Million-Selling 3DS Games
Nintendo are celebrating quite an achievement in Japan, where four games have sold 2 million copies in the last 5 months.
The 3DS has been dominating hardware charts in Japan for some time, boosted by a string of successful game releases for the system. No other system has ever enjoyed the success of 2 million sales for four games in five months in Japan. The four popular games are:
- Yokai Watch 2
- Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS
- Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate
- Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire
Nintendo also listed the number of games that have sold over 2 million copies overall in Japan on their other platforms:
- Nintendo 3DS (10)
- Nintendo DS (14)
- Wii (8)
- Game Boy Advance (2)
The 3DS has now sold over 17 million units in Japan, including the recent bump from the New Nintendo 3DS released in October. The portable system is king in the East, but games like Yokai Watch and Monster Hunter 4 are yet to be released in the West.
