On the heals of a 3DS price cut Nintendo has lowered their profit forecast from ¥110 billion ($1.41B) to ¥20 billion ($257M). This cut could be caused by two things. At the end of the first quarter, ending June 30th, Nintendo’s net sales were down 50% from the same period last year. Now with the 3DS price drop to $170, Nintendo will lose a lot of the profit they expected to make with the 3DS at $250. On the bright side the price drop should spur 3DS sales.
