Another week is upon us, and with it comes the latest releases for the European eShop. This week we are treated to our usual mixed bag of downloadable goodies, including a wide range of very tempting discounts.

  • Family Tennis SP (Shin’en Multimedia, €4.99 / £3.99) – the Wii U debut of this tennis franchise comes with eight playable anime characters, with support for singles and doubles, plus local multiplayer. There’s also a selection of minigames available.

Wii U Virtual Console

  • Axelay (Konami, €7.99 / £5.49) – hailing from 1992 on the SENS (1993 in Europe) comes this classic sci-fi scrolling shooter in the vein of other Konami titles like Gradius. There are plenty of power-ups to choose as you shoot your enemies through both horizontal and vertical scrolling levels, all powered by mode 7 graphics.
  • Demon’s Crest (Capcom, €7.99 / £5.49) – another SNES-era side-scroller, this time from Capcom in 1994 (1995 in Europe). The third entry to feature Firebrand the Gargoyle, a character from the Ghosts ‘n’ Goblins series. Here our hero must breathe fire, claw walls and hover across seven intense levels in order to recover the six magical stones of the Demon Crest before the realms of humans and demons fall into the hands of the evil Phalanx.
