Welcome to your weekly schedule of European eShop releases! This week we have a myriad of titles on offer across both Wii U and 3DS platforms, from new releases to virtual console titles and plenty of tempting discounts.

  • XType Plus (PhobosLab, €2.99 / £2.69) – a shoot ’em up built using the Nintendo Web Framework, this impressive-looking space game throws hordes of enemies at you, with each boss bigger and meaner than the last.
  • Ice Cream Surfer (Dolores Entertainment, €5.00 / £4.49) – another shoot ’em up, albeit a colorful, sidescrolling adventure featuring evil broccoli.
  • Midtown Crazy Race (Jose Varela, €5.00 / £4.49) – claiming to be a “tribute to the car games from late 90s” and ported from the mobile version of the same name, this game allows for GamePad control as a steering wheel, as well as off-TV play.
  • Bombing Bastards (Sanuk Games, €6.99 / £5.99) – if you miss Bomberman as much as we do then this modern take on the series might be for you, featuring single and local multiplayer combats, hellish boss battles, and colorful visuals.

Wii U Virtual Console

  • Pop’n Twinbee Rainbow Bell Adventures (Konami, €7.99 / £5.49) – a sequel to the shooter (which was conveniently released just 3 weeks ago), this combat platformer includes local co-op play.

  • 2048 (GameOn, €1.49 / £1.19) – another game moving from mobile platforms to the 3DS, this is a puzzle game with a simple concept that’s difficult to master. Basically you are tasked with combining number tiles to form larger numbers until you hit the elusive number 2048.
  • Family Kart 3D (Arc System Works, €4.99 / £4.49) – this cute kart racer that’s fun, despite it’s unfortunate lack of multiplayer.
