Nintendo Patent shows 3D and HD display for Wii U
When companies have an idea about a system they normally start by throwing out a lot of ideas. Some ideas are cool, like 3D and HD displays, others are not as cool like a system that feeds you broccoli. (made that one up) No matter how cool something sounds. It comes down to money and cost.
According to a Nov 2011 patent, Nintendo has a few interesting ideas for the Wii U.
– Voice recognition software for voice commands
– “one or more additional microphones…may be provided on the front and/or back surfaces” of the controller
– Controller’s camera could recognize a face or parts of a person’s face. Then stored in the Wii U’s memory.
– Wii U could be used as a videophone.
– Skype/Skype-like service was being considered for Wii U. This still could be possible
– “a game-specific controller (gun-shaped controller, etc.) or an input device such as a keyboard”
– Wii U “might” feature a 3D display
– Wii U controller “might” feature an HD display (controller is sub-HD resolution of 850x or so)
Let us hope some of these “mights” come true.
