With Nintendo’s most recent 3DS firmware update they have blocked the ability for 3DS owners to use flash carts.  According to a manufacturer of such flash carts, Super Card, they said in a forum post via their website that Nintendo has successfully blocked “95% of the card[s] in the world.”  This is a huge win for Nintendo who has been trying to figure out how to block the use of flash carts for years.  Flash carts were a big problem with the DS and Nintendo viewed flash carts as a piracy issue.
