The sales targets for third-quarter and full-year 2009-10 have been revised downwards to €495 million and around €860 million respectively, from the previously announced figures of €540 million and €1,040 million.
These downward revisions are due to the following factors:

As a result, despite relatively robust sales for Wii casual games, and particularly the success of Just Dance, sales in the casual segment are expected to be down for the full year by around €160 million, representing a drop of around 50%.

Millions of U.S. Wii Owners Will Have the Opportunity to Access the World’s Largest Online Movie Rental Service
REDMOND, Wash. & LOS GATOS, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)– Nintendo of America Inc. and Netflix, Inc. [Nasdaq:NFLX] today announced an agreement that will allow Netflix members who are also owners of Nintendo’s Wii™ home console to instantly watch thousands of movies and TV episodes streamed from Netflix directly to their TVs. Netflix is scheduled to go live on the Wii console this spring in the United States at no additional cost to Netflix members who have a plan starting at $8.99 a month, a Wii console and a broadband Internet connection.
The partnership between the two companies will extend the reach of content streamed from Netflix farther than ever before, thanks to the mainstream popularity of the Wii console. Wii remains the fastest-selling home console in history, and reaches more consumers than any other device that currently supports streaming movies from Netflix. In December 2009, Nintendo sold well in excess of 3 million Wii consoles in the United States. Wii is the top-selling home video game system of this generation, and as such brings the Netflix experience to a broad and diverse mass market.

LOS ANGELES, CA – January 11, 2010 – G4’s “X-Play” owns the topic of video games and is the most celebrated gaming show on television. On February 1, television’s longest running video game series celebrates a milestone – its 1000th episode. Hosted by Adam Sessler and Morgan Webb, the show’s 1000th episode will pack extra punch with a retrospective of the series’ greatest moments, as well as all-new material, including interviews with celebrity guests and surprise sketches. The 1000th episode will also mark the launch of “X-Play” in high definition (where G4 HD is available). The six hour celebration begins with a “Best of X-Play” marathon on February 1 at 1PM ET/PT, leading into a special one-hour “X-Play 1000th” special at 6PM ET/PT, only on G4.
“X-Play” premiered in 2003 as the first video game series on television, quickly becoming the go-to destination for young guys seeking the latest video game news, brutally honest reviews, hands-on demos and exclusive video game trailers and footage. The series has helped usher in a decade of major game franchises and the development of new consoles and gaming platforms. As the video game industry has grown to over $20 billion dollars per year, with game releases often trumping many of today’s biggest box office hits, “X-Play” is there to cover it all. Surpassing the 1,000 episode mark places the show in a category no other gaming show has even come close to.
