This weeks featured artist is a very talented musician that goes by the name Audio Sprite. You’ve probably heard of him before and if you haven’t, you’re missing out! To find out more info checkout my interview below and be sure to listen to some of his awesome remixes!
KD: Hey Audio Sprite! Can you give our readers some info about who you are and the awesomeness you create?
AS: Hey! I am a musician located on the Southern coast of England, I make remixes of themes and songs from video games, movies and TV.
KD: Is there an audio editing program you’d recommend for some of our readers who are also interested in creating music?
AS: For the live instrumentation I use a program called EnergyXT and for the MIDI/Synth composition I use Sony ACID Music Studio, both are very streamlined with many features and tutorials for any level of musical ability.
KD: What’s your favorite genre of music to play?
AS: I enjoy all types of music, but I guess my favorite to play would be rock/metal, I get a real kick and energy out of laying down some good guitar parts into a track.
KD: What video games inspire you the most? Do you have a favorite game or series?
AS: Musically I would say the Final Fantasy and classic Sonic The Hedgehog series would be my biggest inspirations. There is a big contrast between atmospheric, epic, orchestral pieces and quick, snappy and catchy tunes but both are some of my favorite too listen to.

KD: What is your favorite remix out of all the ones you’ve done and which one did you have the most fun working on?
AS: My favorite remix so far would have to be Mega Man II : Live From Wily’s Castle, everything about that track came together so naturally and it shines through in both the quality and energy of the song. They have all been so much fun to work on that it’s impossible to choose, every track brings new challenges and experiences with it, so it’s always fun to sit down and hit the record button.

KD: Besides your recent charity remix album (which I’d like you to explain for the readers) what other projects are you working on?
AS: The Charity Remix Album is a way for me to include the retro gaming community and music lovers alike in helping me raise money for a local charity helping to fight children’s cancer. The charity holds a music festival called Teddy Rocks in my home town every year, so all proceeds from the album will go towards the grand total raised from the festival. The charity and it’s festival both hold a special place in my heart as it was started by one of my good friends who sadly lost his younger brother, Ted, to cancer aged only 11.
I’m also currently trying to remix the entire soundtrack for Sonic 2 on the SEGA Genesis/Mega Drive, it’s my all time favorite game and soundtrack so it’s been a real joy to tackle so far.
There are a few other projects in the pipeline but I can’t reveal all the details, all I can say is that’s it’s going to be an exciting and busy year ;)
KD: Have you done any collaborations with any other artist around the web?
AS: It’s something I have always been open to but have only recently started to do, I have had an artist by the name of Lil’ Record Girl provide some much needed vocals to further extend my range of remixes, she is a joy to work with and look forward to our future works together.
