Was it just us or was this an incredibly long week? The team here at Pure Nintendo has been busy with everything Nintendo-related, but in between reviews and articles, we managed to squeeze in some gaming time to get us through.
Check out our favorites from this week below – we’d also love to know what’s on your playlist, so share all your latest gaming delights in the comments section.

- 2D Mario Platformers (Various): To say my anticipation for Super Mario Maker has grown steadily as launch day approaches, is putting it mildly at best. Super Mario All-Stars, and a couple games from the “New” SMB series, have dominated my past 7 days, and fueled my hype. I’ve already picked up my copy of Super Mario Maker, so I suspect it will feature prominently in my playlists for the weeks to come!

- The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword (Wii): This week I started a new adventure in Skyward Sword – I forgot how rough and long that prologue was.
- Mario Kart 8 (Wii U): I also tried to play Mario Kart 8 with my one year old son. We got about one lap in before he started to eat the controller.

My Wii U is still out of action and I’m super disappointed – my pre-ordered copy of Super Mario Maker is ready for collection tomorrow! Thankfully at least my 3DS has kept me company again this week…
- Picross e2 (3DS): A little relaxing puzzle time to get me to work on the train.
- New Super Mario Bros. 2 (3DS): With Super Mario Maker due out tomorrow the excitement has built new momentum! Sadly I won’t be playing it until my new power cable arrives but still .. some Mario platforming action is keeping me company in the meantime.
- Pokémon Shuffle (3DS): Finally made some progress again this week, reached level 195. Some really tough battles!
