Namco’s Active Life Explorer asks players to Run, Jump, Play…Explore through dozens of levels and events to collect treasure, all by using the Wii-Mote and their DDR-type floor pad.  At first glance Active Life Explorer may seem like a kids’ game. But get two teams of two grown men together running like kids trying to beat each other’s score and…you get a pretty good time.

Active Life uses the pad to control your players by jumping running, stepping to the side, and playing a weird game of twister. You can play by yourself or with another player, by switching out or on the same game pad. The game play changes a little with someone else. In multiplayer, players are set to work together to reach goals. You can also switch out and try to out-do your friend’s score.

Active Life Explorer was probably the most fun I have had playing an exercise game, since Wii Fit.  It is also the first time I found myself in a full sweat while playing a game, since Wii Fit.  Active Life, probably not the most well-rounded work out, but…

If you are a parent looking for a game that will get your kids up off the couch and moving, Active Life Explorer could be a good game to look into. If you are one of the older generation looking for an exercise game, I would stick with Wii Fit.
