Pure Nintendo Review: Galactic Taz Ball
Taz Hungry, Taz Hungry for some Nintendo DS. Galactic Taz Ball is the new installment from a long line of Looney Tunes games and it comes to the Nintendo DS.
Story
While enjoying being…well Taz…Taz is interrupted by no other than Marvin the Martian in a plot to capture all of the Earth’s landscapes for Mars. Taz is then thrusted into a spinning journey around the Galaxy to find himself some food….oh, and to stop Marvin the Martian too.
Gameplay
There are two parts to Galactic Taz Ball; The first part consists of Taz finding his way through raised landscapes (thanks to Marvin) while stomping and ramming enemies along the way. Oh and there are plenty of moving platforms to help trip Taz up.
The second part takes Taz underground were the direction and movement of Taz is controlled by moving sidewalks, fans, and giant springs. Even though these areas are used to open locked doors they also hide many secret objects to gather.
Controls
This is where Galatic Taz Ball shines. Just like the name sounds, you guide Taz by using a giant ball. On the lower screen of the DS is a giant ball that can be moved by flicking it with the stylus. The faster you flick it the faster Taz will go…. but be careful, Taz will enter his crazy Taz tornado mode and fly off the edges.
If I ever expect to know what a Taz game would be like on the DS, I would probably come up with Galatic Taz Ball. It may not be the most in-depth, story driven game out there but it does the Taz name justice.
I give Galatic Taz Ball a 7.3/10
