Senators looking to make special ESRB rules for Wii games

A portion of a letter sent to the ESRB, penned by Senators Hillary Clinton, Joe Lieberman, Evan Bayh, and Sam Brownback:
“That system permits children to act out each of the many graphic torture scenes and murders in Manhunt 2 rather than simply manipulating a game pad. This led one clinical psychologist to state that the realistic motions used with the Wii mean that ‘you’re basically teaching a child the behavioral sequencing of killing.’ While this was not cited as the reason for the BBFC decision, we do believe that the ESRB should take the Wii remote controller, and future advances in game controllers, which create more realistic gaming environments, into consideration.”
What do you think about this? Should this be taken into consideration.

I don’t like this at all. Clinton has hates video games and everybody knows that fact, she is doing everything in her power to try and stop the video game industry. I don’t think that it is fare that they want to come in and change the rules on how games are rated. Yes, it’s true that ManHunt shows a different approach on how the Wii-mote can be used to play a game, but ESRB knew this when they rated the game and so did everybody else who’s heard of this game. I think that it’s the parents responsibility to decide wether or not their child should be aloud to play certain games, and ESRB is their to simply inform the parents what the game contains so that the parent can decide wether or not it’s appropriate for the child to play. Rating games is just like rating movies, they rate movies so that parents can determine if it’s okay for their child to watch or not.
This just makes me really upset, if Hillary is elected as our next president I know she’s going to do something to hurt the video game industry.
