Some interesting changes coming to Wind Waker HD
This past week, Gamescom offered the ability for more gamers to go hands-on with The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD. From this comes new discoveries about the differences between the original and the HD version.
For me, the original Wind Waker was a perfect game. Well, if it wasn’t for one major part – The Triforce quest. In the original, players were tasked to search for eight Triforce charts. Once found, those charts were then taken to our friend Mr. Tingle, where he would translate them for 398 rupees. After all of this, the player was finally able to track down the eight Triforce pieces. In the HD version, players will be able to pick up the first five Triforce pieces directly while the last three will need the translated maps.
The game will also offer the players the ability to move around in first person mode. According to one hands on impression; this comes in real handy while using Link’s bow to clear out a hallway full of enemies.
Below is a list of more changes found in Wind Waker HD:
- Hero Mode will be available at the start of the game.
- Picto Box has been upgraded : Camera can be used to snap photos of unsuspecting villagers or enemies and sent to Miiverse.
- Link can also take self portraits while switching between happy, sad, and surprised emotions.
- A Swift Sail can be found at the auction house after completion of the first dungeon.
- No longer possible to accidentally skip Tingle’s island.
- An introduction to Tingle has been added into the main quest.
