During a recent Nintendo World Report (NWR) interview with the Director of Public Relations at Nintendo of America, Marc Franklin, it was clarified that you will need Wii Motion Plus attachments or Wii Remote Plus controllers for Nintendo Land.  When asked about Wii Remotes and what you need to play Nintendo Land Marc Franklin said “It’s a good question, let me check on that and get back to you.”  The interview continues and later in the interview a different, unnamed Nintendo Representative responded to NWR’s question “…to clarify your other question, for Nintendo Land, you do need the Motion Plus Remote because some of the games require it.”

If you don’t already have Motion Plus, then do not just go out and buy brand new Wii Remote Plus controllers.  Regular Wii Remotes can be fitted with Motion Plus attachments (shown above) and would be a cheaper option than buying a new set of Wii Remote Plus controllers.  But if you do not already have Wii Remotes, then I would definetly just go with the Wii Remote Plus controllers (shown below) because it is a cheaper option for those people who don’t already own Wii Remotes.
