Sony: 3DS doesn’t work very well
“When people see 3D that doesn’t work very well, or content that isn’t very compelling, I think quite naturally they’re not as interested in it,” he said, when asked to comment on the 3DS’ performance. “A message we’ve been giving to all of our PS3 developers is add 3D where it adds something to the game. It’s not a tickbox we want on all the game boxes; we want 3D to add to the experience. The other really important thing is to do it well.”
-Mick Hocking
I am not going to bash Mr. Hocking calling him names or dumb. The only thing I am going to say about this has to do with the last sentence. Mr. Iwata himself said Nintendo does not force developers to create their 3DS games in 3D. It is not a “tickbox” for Nintendo. Yes the 3DS’s big draw is the 3D, but graphically itself the 3DS can do some nice things. I am sure we will see plenty of games, on the 3DS, that do not use the 3D.
