Did you know that Nintendo started out by making playing cards, before becoming the gaming giant we all know and love? This latest merchandise harks back to those grand old days, with some very snappy Splatoon-themed cards announced for Japan.

Splatoon, as one of the Wii U’s success stories, is a natural fit for merchandise of course, and Nintendo announced the sets of cards on Twitter. The cards come in three varieties: Fashion, Weapons and Standard, with all three featuring art of the Squid Sisters, Jelonzo, Spyke, and more.
