Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie-based game heading to 3DS
A game based on the upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie will be making its way to the 3DS, Activision announced today. In fact, it should arrive this August, around the same time as the movie hits cinemas.
The game will be a third-person hack-and-slash game, and players will be able to swap between the four turtles at any time. Each turtle has unique skills – for example, Michaelangelo’s character is more prone to speed, with Raphael more focussed on strength.
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game is being developed by Magic Pockets, the same Paris-based house who made the recent TMNT game based on the Nickelodeon cartoon.
Check out some screenshots below and let us know if you’re looking forward to kicking more shell in August.

When will we get an awesome TMNT game like the retro ones from back in the day? This movie based title is bound to suck like many other movie based games do.

I too would love to see a great Ninja turtles game. I enjoyed the Ninja turtles smash-up for the Wii. Given the game had a few faults in it. Also it was very much like Smash bros, but It still made for me at least an enjoyable play. I also found lack of characters to be a problem, given it has the core characters in the game but I would have loved to see more.

Totally agree – and it was nice to see a different take on the TMNT genre with the smash-up. That said, I would love something akin to SNES’ TMNT IV: Turtles in Time. Played that through over and over again many times back in the day! It’s hard to take the movie-game seriously as the movie itself looks questionable :-/

I agree the movie looks very questionable(Not like the Movies from when I was a kid anyway.) but to be honest I like the show on Nick. I feel the movie will be Okay, but honestly I feel it looks better than the movie made just a few years ago TMNT. I don’t know I guess we will just have to wait and see what the movie brings. I spent many years of my childhood playing and watching The turtles SOOO many memories.

I know, TMNT was huge when I was a kid. It’s good in a way to see it back, and I agree with you – the new Nick show is actually pretty good. The movie might be ok, but it just looks so … weird … compared to my memories of the very first movie from the 90s, which I watched over and over on VHS hahaha

I agree, my main complaint is that scene on the roof top and Leo jumps down and you hear that loud slam. It just does not seem too stealthy to me. I have not seen too much of the Foot clan I just am not sure what to make of it. I know that I enjoy watching the Nick cartoon with my son, I also have most of the seasons of the original cartoon and Original Movies on DVD. I still have my TMNT toys, Well I gave them to my son who claims he can not pay with them because they are “antiques.” Even at one point during my childhood I went with my best friend to get the Ninja turltes autographs at a local gas station. But anyway I probably will still see the Movie if not in theaters then at home. Anyways Cowabunga!
