Dominic Guay, senior producer at Ubisoft Montreal, recently spoke with Digital Spy about the new potential blockbuster IP Watch Dogs.  During their conversation Guay spoke a little bit about the Wii U version of Watch Dogs.

“We’re still investigating how we’ll use the tablet on the Wii U, but with the things I mentioned before, for us it’s not going to be a weird stretch.”

“It’s natural. What’s really cool with Watch Dogs, when we start thinking of those devices, it’s not a weird abstraction, it’s not like I’m a space alien and now I’m using a tablet. Why am I doing that?”

“Aiden Pearce is using a device to control the city, so it’s quite easy to imagine what we could do with that.”

Within the same conversation it was explained that the ‘core’ social features will be the same across the platforms and the game is “already running” on the system with the port being handled by Ubisoft’s Bucharest studio.

The development team for Watch Dogs also received a lot of support from Ubisoft after it premired at E3 2012.  Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot spoke with MCVuk.com about the hype surrounding Watch Dogs after E3 and how that encouraged Ubisoft to increase the dev teams resources.

“E3 was a great revelation for Watch Dogs.”

“It gave us a chance to increase the whole project, giving the studio the chance to have bigger teams to help them achieve this goal they have.”

“You always have great ideas, but you need enough people to bring it to life. After E3, we really made sure they had all the teams they needed and all the capacity they wanted to fulfil their dream.”

“It’s an open world, that is well-adapted to what people want to play today. So there’s good potential for success.”
