Nintendo is holding a major Wii U press event in New York City on September 13, hosted by Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime. An invitation sent to select media outlets today promised a day that will let us learn “more about how the Wii U will change the future of gaming and entertainment.” – Stephen Totilo, Kotaku

Looks like September 13 will be the date when Nintendo will reveal the price/release date for the Wii U.  Now they mention the more broad term ‘change the future of gaming and entertainment’ so I’m guessing there will be more than just price/release date.  I wouldn’t be surprised if they announce launch games, included software, and trailers for games leading into Q1 of 2013.  Oh, and I did some digging and found our post from the September 14, 2006 event where Nintendo revealed Wii launch price/info: https://purenintendo.com/2006/09/16/wii-launch-details/.  Timing looks to be spot on with that 2006 event as it was on a Thursday as well.  Also, in our predictions at the beginning of the year, we said the Wii U would come out on November 18, 2012, so we’ll know soon if we were on with that prediction.
