Justin Sharp
Founder / PNM Editor-in-Chief

Pure Nintendo founder and all around Nintendo geek. Nintendo systems have always been home to my most favorite gaming memories but I also enjoy video games on any platform. The first system I purchased was a Nintendo GameCube but I grew up playing the NES, SNES, and all of the various Game Boy models.

My love of video games started with the Nintendo GameCube. My favorite franchises are The Legend of Zelda and the Professor Layton series. I'm currently in the process of conquering every Zelda game in the series but my true, geeky loves are Star Trek and DC Comics. NNID: purely_katie

Even though I was first introduced to video games with the Atari 2600 (I feel old) it was Nintendo that turned me into a lifelong fan. From the magical NES era when Nintendo was the face of gaming, through today with the 3DS, Switch (and everything in between) Nintendo’s always entertained me with their innovative, and just plain fun games! Writing for Pure Nintendo has allowed me to combine a fondness for journalism with my love of gaming. I’ve especially enjoyed building working relationships with smaller and independent developers and studios.

Hello! My name is Kaelyn, and I LOVE Nintendo! I can't remember a time when I didn't play video games. Growing up with 3 older brothers it was hard to avoid them. Nintendo was always something that put me in a good mood, or taken me away when I needed a break from reality. My favorite series is the Legend of Zelda! I've always been into drawing Nintendo characters and seeing other people's video game themed art. I have a dream of one day meeting the great Shigeru Miyamoto, and one day working for Nintendo (Don't we all).

I love all things Nintendo! It's my Dad's fault really, since he bought my sister and I the NES many Christmases ago. It was the beginning of a love affair, but who could blame me? There was no better introduction to video games than Mario and Zelda! I'm a proud owner of a 3DS (Fire Emblem-branded, thank you), a Wii U (which, incidentally, also doubles as my TV remote), and the Switch (day one, naturally). I'm a writer and a web developer, so I love writing reviews and take design elements very seriously. My all-time favorite game is Super Mario World for the SNES, though I'm also partial to any of the Mario Kart entries.

Raised on Intellivision and Star Frontiers, I've been a gamer since I was old enough to say, "There's nothing on TV." There's still nothing on TV so I'm still playing games, and I likely will be until I'm able to retire to Wuhu Island.

Thanks to the Super Nintendo and SEGA Genesis, video games became my life and passion. Nintendo has always taken a first place in my heart of gaming and I'm always looking for an excuse to talk about Nintendo. Thankfully I've managed to find a way to combine my love of Nintendo with jobs that let me write all about it. I've also spent time as a Q&A Tester in gaming but, let's face it, writing about the games is way more fun.

My background in gaming started with PC games and the good old Sega Genesis. However, when it came to Nintendo, I was introduced to the GameCube and it became one of my favorite consoles. The DS Lite also holds a special place for me. I was introduced to Pure Nintendo by my good friend Trevor Gould. I look forward to putting my hobby of writing to use and playing new games.

I started covering games for iOS in 2013, and made the Switch to Nintendo (you see what I did there) in 2019. I enjoy tabletop, mobile, and console gaming—just about anything which can provide a little diversion, a brain teaser, or an adventure. A little play every day can be good for you. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

Pokémon Yellow was my first introduction to gaming, and still is my favourite game of all time. Couple this with my love for writing, and journalistic and content marketing background, writing video game reviews just makes sense for me. The original Game Boy is my favourite gaming system of all time and I don't think anything will ever top it. I'm still discovering gems to this day.

Growing up in a house of Nintendo gamers, it was inevitable I'd become attached. I especially enjoy games along the lines of Animal Crossing and Stardew Valley, and I'm oddly entertained by making characters run up stairs. I also love all things cute and cuddly…even more so when I can make those things fight in dungeons.
