Pokémon GO is kicking off the new year with a special event for fans. The Twinkling Fantasy event will give players loads of special treats, including the chance to encounter Fairy and Drogon-type Pokémon.
During the event, you’ll have a greater chance of encountering specific pocket monsters in the wild. Fairy and Dragon types that you might find include Clefairy, Jigglypuff, Dratini, Marill, and Dedenne. If you’re lucky, you might run into a Goomy or Noibat on your travels.
Plus, for the first time in Pokémon GO, you’ll be able to encounter a Shiny Dedenne—if you’re really lucky!
Additionally, Mega Salamence will also make its Pokémon GO debut, appearing in Mega Raids. One-, three- and five-star raids will also feature special Pokémon.
The Twinkling Fantasy event will run from 8 am on Tuesday, January 10 to 10 pm on Monday, January 16. Times are local to your regions. There are research tasks and collection challenges to keep you busy during the event.
It seems like only yesterday, but Pokémon GO has been running since 2016. And with new events like this occurring regularly, the mobile game shows no signs of slowing down just yet. With the likes of Pokémon Arceus and Pokémon Scarlet and Violet gracing our screens recently, there’s a lot of Pokémon love at the moment.
