Wondering what to play this week? The Pure Nintendo playlist is here to provide gaming inspiration! Many of us are still enraptured with the latest The Legend of Zelda outing, spending as much time in Hyrule as possible. However, there are plenty of other gems to tempt you away from rescuing Princess Zelda.

If you’re an animal lover who enjoys sim titles, Animal Shelter Simulator will be one to put on your playlist. It combines management aspects with caring for animals, creating a unique experience. Meanwhile, Despot’s Game is about as abstract as you can get, taking puny humans and pitting them against robot-inspired monsters. It borders on horror, in a humorus way, unlike Decarnation, which seems to be a more disturbing horror survival title.

If you’re looking for something a little more relaxing, then Garden Simulator or Puzzle Bobble might be more up your alley. We’ve played them all. Check out our latest playlist below to see what the team has been up to lately!

  • Animal Shelter Simulator (Switch) – This game is next on my list to review. I love sim games and love animals, so this one was certainly a no-brainer for me. I’ve enjoyed my time rescuing cats and dogs, playing with them, and petting them while managing my own animal shelter business.
  • The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (Switch) – I’m still making my way through this game. I’m almost done with the main story (I think), but keep getting distracted by side quests, exploration, and more. I’m not complaining, though. I love this game.

  • The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (Switch) – I imagine this will be on the list at least until the release of Pikmin 4. Every day I play, I change my strategy on what I want to accomplish next. Visit more stables? Unlock all the Great Fairy fountains? Finally get back to braving the Abyss? Poor Zelda has to be wondering if maybe Link has ADHD, the way I’m playing.
  • Decarnation (Switch) – A very intriguing survival horror game about a woman struggling with her career and relationships, not to mention the numerous monsters attacking her. What’s real and what isn’t? And does it even matter if you can’t tell the difference? Find out when my review posts  soon.

Trev

  • Etrian Odyssey III HD (Switch) – While this game takes me back to the DS days, the touch-screen mapping takes some getting used to. Look for reviews for all three EOHD games next week.
  • Garden Simulator (Switch) – Another review game, and one of the better simulators I’ve played, thankfully. There seem to be a lot of these types of releases lately, so you definitely want to be selective. Full thoughts coming soon.
  • Puzzle Bobble Everybubble! (Switch) – Yet another review, though the least demanding of the three. I’m a Puzzle Bobble (Bust-A-Move) vet, so I’m up for the challenge and digging the crossover extra as well. Learn more shortly when I publish my overdue thoughts.
  • The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (Switch) – There’s always something to do in this time sink of a game. Still having fun weeks after launch, as you know if you’ve caught our recent podcasts. Vote Hudson!

  • The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (Switch) – I’m not ashamed to admit that this game has consumed my life for the past month or so. I’ve spent many hours wandering Hyrule, and yet I’m still so far from reaching Zelda. There’s so much to do and enjoy in this latest outing for Link, and I’m thoroughly enjoying discovering every inch of it. You can also follow our Hyrulian adventures on the Pure Nintendo Podcast!
  • Despot’s Game (Switch) – I pulled myself away from Tears of the Kingdom to play something quite different. This action-stragegy game sees you controlling tiny humans as you move from room to room to battle monsters. It’s a little bonkers and quite fun, so watch for my upcoming review!
